STATE PLAN AMENDMENT 22-0015
REGARDING
COVID-19 VACCINES AND VACCINE ADMINISTRATION, TESTING, AND TREATMENT COVERAGE
Pursuant to 42 U.S.C. §1396a(a)(13)(1997) and 42 C.F.R. §447.205, the Department of Health and Human Resources (“Department”), Bureau for Medical Services (“BMS”) provides notice of the filing of a state plan amendment (SPA), identified as SPA 22-0015, regarding mandatory Medicaid coverage for COVID-19 vaccines and vaccine administration, testing, and treatments.
This SPA will provide mandatory coverage and reimbursement for COVID-19 vaccines and vaccine administration, COVID-19 testing, and COVID-19 treatment including specialized equipment and therapies through the last day of the first calendar quarter that begins one year after the last day of the public health emergency (PHE) period.
This SPA will have a retroactive effective date of March 11, 2021, pending CMS approval. The change would increase costs in Fiscal Year 2023 by $0 and in Fiscal Year 2024 by $0.
This SPA and notice will be available for public inspection between February 13, 2023 and March 15, 2023.
